We’d like to tell you a little about our work. We want to inform you about our current projects, and of course, we’d like to introduce you to Kathiawar Balashram, which is in the Indian state of Gujarat. 

Our association, whose official name is "Freunde und Förderer des Kinderheimes Kathiawar Balashram, Indien e.V." or "Rajkotfreunde" (Friends of Rajkot) for short, was founded by 20 families with adoptive children from India. It was registered with the district court in Neu-Ulm on 30.07.1996, and was recognized by the local income tax office as a charitable organization.

During our visits to India we have been confronted time and time again with the poverty suffered by many Indians, especially children. We have seen how valuable the dedicated work of the Balashram’s management is. In order to help more effectively, we founded a charitable organization - to strengthen the bond which has existed for many years and create a more powerful link between friends and donors in Germany and India – a sign of hope for a better future for many poor children in India.

We are a team of unpaid volunteers who try to support the work of the Balashram’s management both morally and financially. We are already helped by many friends and supporters from all over Germany. These friends and supporters are the basis of our work – they provide the support which the Balashram both needs and richly deserves.
